Have you ever felt that your life has been nothing more than a series of detours … taking you to places you never expected?  If so, attend the Detour Conference on Wednesday, June 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Ocean County College, Room 203, Bartlett Hall (Building #2), OCC Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River.  Admission is free and open to the public.

You know the feeling, you’re driving down the road, everything is going smoothly, your GPS is working, and then suddenly you hit an orange and black detour sign … you’re thrown into a sense of fear and panic, you’re lost, and you have no idea which way to turn!

Well, life is like that too – we can be cruising down the road of life and suddenly we hit an unexpected detour sign and we need to hit the brakes and find an alternate route.  However, sometimes it takes a wrong turn to get you to the right place!

Join Kathleen DiMario, owner of Second Acts Career Services and Adjunct Professor of Social Science at Ocean County College, as she discusses her own life’s detours and how she successfully navigated around them.  DiMario will give her audience tips on how to embrace the change, shift gears, and enjoy the ride.

RSVP by June 15.  Call the Office of Career, Employment, and Counseling Services at Ocean County College, Displaced Homemakers Program of Ocean County, at 732-255-0400, ext. 2297, or email displacedhomemakers@ocean.edu.
